New Parish Pastor

My Dear parishioners,

I wish to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as your new Parochial Administrator. My name is Fr. Ruel Zaratan Mesa and I was born on July 10, 1980 in Pangasinan, Philippines. I am the sixth child of seven siblings born to wonderful and loving parents, Restituto and Lilia Mesa. My entire family is in the Philippines. I have an older brother who is also a priest and is currently serving in my native country. I know they are all praying for me today as I begin this new journey with you. I hope you will get to meet them, especially my parents and my brother-priest, who occasionally come here in the United States to visit me. I was ordained to the priesthood on August 22, 2008 for the Diocese of Sacramento. I was previously appointed as Parochial Vicar at Holy Family Parish in Citrus Heights (2008-2010), St. Mary Parish in Vacaville (201-2012), and St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln (2012-2014), before becoming your Parochial Administrator here at St. Peter & All Hallows Church. In all my assignments, I have been blessed with tremendous opportunities to serve God’s people in ways that I could never have imagined. And how my journey brings me to this wonderful community. I am excited to be of service to you and be part of this community.

My dear friends, I ask all of us that we open our hearts together to the Holy Spirit so that we may know His will and follow Him with generous hearts. In the coming days and weeks, I look forward to meeting you all. Let us ask the prayers and intercession to St. Peter and of All the Saints to lead us closer to each other and to the Lord. Last Friday, we celebrated the birthday of this great nation. Let us give thanks for the gifts of liberty and freedom. Let us pray for the men and women who serve our country, and we pray that we will always strive to be one nation under God with liberty and justice for all. May our community and our entire nation be blessed with God’s presence and be surrounded by His Divine Love. God bless you all!

Love and prayers,

Rev. Fr. Ruel Z. Mesa
